Safe Sound Kids Northwest was formed in July of 2023 in an effort to bring together CPST instructors and CPSTs to host more hybrid and in-person CPST courses in the King County area. The goal of the non-profit is to provide more equitable CPST certification opportunities to underserved communities within the county.
Safe Sound Kids Northwest was formed in July of 2023 in an effort to bring together CPST instructors and CPSTs to host more hybrid and in-person CPST courses in the King County area. The goal of the non-profit is to provide more equitable CPST certification opportunities to underserved communities within the county.
Safe Sound Kids Northwest has high aims as it continues to grow and become a staple non-profit in the King County area.
Our aims for the non-profit are:
Train more CPSTs in underserved communities within King County, largely focusing in our BIPOC communities.
Provide free or reduced cost resources and car seats to local families together with 1:1 education on car seat use and installation to these families.
Identify equity gaps in our region and seek to address these gaps in service and community education.
Collaborate with local schools and districts to train more bus drivers and personnel on bus safety.
Collaborate with local schools, day care centers, and foster care agencies to ensure safe transportation for all students and children in our county.
Collaborate with local law enforcement to certify more LEOs and create advocates within each agency.
